Widely credited as the inventor of the modern wedding dress, AMSALE’s late founder Amsale Aberra made waves in the bridal industry when she replaced the frippery and frills of the 1980s with a more refined, modern aesthetic for her namesake made-to-order label. More than three decades later, the fashion house’s design team keeps that legacy alive, crafting striking and timeless wedding wear that fits a bride’s mood and vision, in addition to her body. Amsale, the first Black female inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America, once said, “True style knows no place or time—more than an aesthetic, style is a way of living.”
