"We met each other at the age of 15, got together at 21 and recently got engaged at 32!...
The great thing about my man is that he knows me so well. He staged a photo shoot at our new place together. I was under the impression that I was helping a friend with her photo portfolio for her new job with Essence magazine. We literally had a two hour photo shoot. Meanwhile my fiancee had our entire family hiding in the parking garage, waiting for the perfect moment. I was instructed to close my eyes and put my hands together as if to say a prayer. I felt a presence behind me and immediately turn around, only to find my fiancee on his knee and our entire family running up behind him. It was absolutely perfect."
Wedding Planning...
"Now I am in full wedding planning mode...
We just recently booked our dream venue, a stunning ballroom right in Queens. I am doing my best to remain calm though I am running an entire company. After a long stressful work days, it's been nice to come home and create my pinterest board of wedding decor and snuggle up with bae to watch Girlfriends on Netflix. My goal is to enjoy every minute of wedding planning. Every time I get stressed, I take a deep breath and remember how special it felt to see my man on his knee, and how special it will be for us to say I do. "
Lydia and Cheikh got their marriage certificate at the end of 2020 and our looking forward to their big celebration at the end of 2021!
